Week 15 (12/9 - 12/13)

HIGHLIGHTS
Last week here at SfN

It is hard to believe that my time here with SfN has come to an end. My experience here is unforgettable and I am very grateful for all the opportunities my supervisor and CS team have given me. I continue to grow at SfN and my active work strengthens my design confidence. On my last day my team surprised me with a very nice lunch where I gave a short but heart-felt speech. I also received gifts and souvenirs to remember SfN by. The team also wished me farewell with a gigantic cake and other sweet treats. Overall, I feel very lucky to have this experience and I hope my next internship/work will be just as wonderful.

HIGHLIGHTS
After Neuroscience 2013

The amount of job requests after the annual meeting has significantly decreased and work has slowed down. Hearing my coworkers' stories from the meeting was very exciting and I received plenty of souvenirs. The office also had an all staff thanksgiving theme lunch to celebrate next week holiday.

Week 10 and Week 11 (11/4 - 11/15)

HIGHLIGHTS
Neuroscience 2013

From November 7 to 15 the entire SfN staff, except a handful of us who stayed here in DC, were in San Diego for the Neuroscience 2013. I was offered to attend the annual meeting (all expenses covered), however, I decided not to go due to school obligations. The Creative Services team were assigned to work at the convention's information booth with an almost 10-hour shift per day. I was definitely dissappointed that I did not get to go because I really wanted to see our design work being displayed/use in person.

HIGHLIGHTS
Mass printing and Halloween

This week was especially busy for the Creative Services department because work requests have dramatically increased with Neuroscience 2013 only three weeks away. My main task was to get work requests printed and packaged ready for shipping to San Diego (programs, tabletop signs, flyers, signages etc.) On a lighter note, SfN had a pumpkin carving contest in the lobby and free candy in celebration for Halloween.
